چکیده
3D Printing In article number 2208365, Rihan Hai, Cheng Sun, and co-workers report a method for printing the key optical optomechanical components of miniature accommodating microscope in 50 min less than $4. Synergizing built-in voice-coil-motor compliant optomechanics facilitates focus stacking functionality extending imaging depth. enables digitized component manufacturing, part-count reduction, passive alignment ease system miniaturization assembly, allowing rapid customizability toward task-specific needs.

Metamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).
By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.

متن کاملA miniature optical breathing sensor
We demonstrate a novel miniature optical breathing sensor based on an Agarose infiltrated photonic crystal fiber interferometer. The sensor detects the variation in relative humidity that occurs between inhaled and exhaled breath. The sensor interrogation system can determine the breathing pattern in real time and can also predict the breathing rate and the breathing status during respiration. ...
